LO1: The purposes, approaches and contrast between different audio-visual promos

KTA 5 Secondary research

Five secondary methods of research.  - Textbooks/ books  - News articles. - Websites/specialist websites.  - Biographies  - Government data banks.  - Media research organisations (BARB for tv, PamCo for publishing and RAJAR for radio). Information is free on the internet, format is easy to analyse and also we know that’s it’s true full. KTA 4 Primary Researcher

 Primary Research - Getting and gathering first hand information and data  Quantitative - Data. Qualitative - Detail. In depth information: - Sentences  - Not generally numerical. Cross Reference - Interview other people and see if they say the same thing. BARB provides viewing figures  RARJA stands for Radio Joint Audience research, commercial and PSP (Public Service Programme) and it collects listenership   PamCo collect readership  The method for mass sampling is primary    Qualitative primary data To find Qualitative data for my brief I could interview Rob Speranza from the South Yorkshire Film Network.  I could also do a focus group with other filmmakers and students.  Furthermore I could do a screen test of different rushes of the tv programme.  Quantitative primary data To find Quantitative for my brief I could do a social media poll on twitter, instagram or facebook.  To find Quantitative
